Nominate Your Favorites in Readers' Choice 2012

Nominate your choices for the best spa, pediatrician, music school, beer selection, day care and more, for voting in July. Winners will be named Patch Readers' Choice Winners for 2012!

Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Conshohocken, while linked by the Colonial School District, are three distinct communities. Each boasts different strengths when it comes to local business, whether it be the nightlife of Fayette Street, the Plymouth Meeting Mall, or the Ma and Pa shops on Germantown Pike. However, each also has its share of hidden gems, so we want to know: what are the best businesses in the area? Patch is running its first annual Readers' Choice contest, where you can sing the praises of your favorite local and regional businesses in 25 unique categories, before voting on the nominees later this month. Readers Vote: The Best Rainy Day Activity

While the weather outside might be frightful, where do you go that’s just delightful? From spending sometime at your favorite family fun center to your local library, we’re looking for that one place to escape the “rainy day blues.” Patch re-launching its Readers’ Choice program and we asked you to nominate the best rainy day activity place in the region. Poll Results: ‘From the Boot’ Takes Top Italian Honors

We asked, you decided.

“From the Boot?” asked Matt Sherlock in the comments, less than three hours after this week’s reader poll of the top Italian restaurants in Plymouth Whitemarsh had been posted. Cindy chimed in an hour later. Bridget$ an hour after that. Then Heidi Meiners, and Joane, and Kelie Schannel. The same question, increasingly incredulous, kept coming: “Why isn’t From the Boot on the ballot?” So staring down a wave of populist resentment unlike anything we’d seen in this space, before or since, we acquiesced. The restaurant was added to the ballot that evening, the offending editor came out of hiding, and, not surprisingly, the Lafayette Hill eatery rolled to victory.
