National Weather Service Warns Montco of impending storm tonight.
Bring in the patio furniture and cover the grill. This could be a doozy. A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. Alerts were issued at 7:45 p.m. The warning is in place until 8:30 p.m. The storm is said to bring quarter-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts. The NWS called it a "dangerous storm." "If you are in its path, prepare immediately or damaging winds, large hail and deadline cloud-to-ground lightning," said the alert. Rough weather ahead for Montco.
It might be a good Friday night to stay in. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), at approximately 3:38 p.m. Friday, there is a Freezing Rain Advisory in affect for Montgomery County and surrounding areas. From 10 p.m. Friday evening to 8 a.m. Saturday morning, area residents are warned for icy and freezing conditions. A previously issued "Winter Weather Advisory" was cancelled. The advisory warns of trace ice accumulations as a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain or rain may become all freezing rain overnight. "Icing wil create hazardous conditions on roadways and sidewalks overnight into Saturday morning," said the advisory. Temperatures are slated to stay in the low 30s through the evening. National Weather Service says the area could get wet weather through Monday morning.
According to ReadyNotifyPA alerts, the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for Montgomery County. The county is also under a heavy rain and flood advisory. The advisory issued states that the county could see freezing rain conditions from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11. The conditions could largely affect the morning commute. "As warmer air moves in at the surface, the freezing rain should change to rain in most areas between 8 and 10 a.m. Monday morning," said the NWS. Those needing to get to work and school in the early morning hours may find dangerous conditions. County is now under a 'winter weather advisory' and not a 'winter storm warning.'
The area of Montgomery County will now likely get less snow than originally predicted. The National Weather Service has reduced the area's warning down to a "Winter Weather Advisory." Last night, the NWS issued a Winter Storm Warning, declaring that four to eight inches of snow were expected for the county. However, today's forecast lessened the report to a now-expected one to two inches. "Accumulations of snow of one to at most four inches are expected," according to the latest advisory. The newest information from the NWS, located in Mount Holly, N.J., says that travel may still be possible now. The National Weather Service says those in Montgomery County, Pa. should expect some snow in the coming day with Winter Storm Nemo.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Saturday. The storm in the Montgomery County area of Pennsylvania is expected to bring between four and eight inches of snow. "Heavy snow" and a "possible trace of ice" is expected in the storm. We may even see a rare winter thunderstorm, as two weather fronts collide to form what the Weather Service has called "Winter Storm Nemo." Tornado watch throughout Pennsylvania through 7 p.m.
During the predicted severe thunderstorm Tuesday conditions are favorable for potential tornadoes throughout Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service said. The NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK, issued a tornado watch for all counties in the commonwealth until 7 p.m. Tuesday "This watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms with possible tornadoes. Hail and strong winds are also possible. Persons in the watch area should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings," according to an advisory. National Weather Services issues advisory from Wednesday to Friday.
The extended spring will crash to an end Wednesday with three days of hot weather predicted. The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Friday for the Delaware Valley, including Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Delaware Counties. Montgomery County has declared a Code Red beginning 11 a.m. and ending on 8 p.m. on Thursday. "An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely," the NWS said in its warning. Gusts could get as high as 40 mph Tuesday night.
Continuing what has already been a windy month for the Plymouth-Whitemarsh area, the National Weather Service is predicting strong gusts for the area, its second prediction in five days. According to the service, winds gusts between 35 and 40 mph are possible Tuesday night. No extreme weather is currently predicted through the rest of the week, according to the release, though the area may see “mixed wintery precipitation” Friday night into Saturday.

The National Weather Service advises residents to avoid strenuous outdoor work on Wednesday.
As if the heat wasn’t enough. The National Weather Service has issued a code orange-level air quality alert for the region, effective Wednesday. “A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, the elderly and people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases,” the weather service said in a release. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor exercises and strenuous activity while the alert is in place. The National Weather Service declared an excessive heat advisory for the area on Monday.
