A Pet Blessing and a 'Purple Rock Bash,' This Week

Check out a few events happening this week in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh area.

Conshohocken Borough will hold its council workshop meeting Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at borough hall at Eighth Avenue and Fayette Street.

Church of St. Jude and The Nativity, at 203 Germantown Pike, in Lafayette Hill, will hold a Blessing of the Pets event on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. Come and receive a blessing in the name of St Francis, patron saint of animals. The service will be held at 6 p.m., rain or shine, and lasts 20 minutes, followed by treats until 7 p.m. If your pet can’t make it, come with a photograph.

The Purple Rock Bash, a benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, starring The Karmic Repair Company with Liz Bligan, will be held Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. at the Great American Pub's Valley Top Ballroom at 123 Fayette St. in Conshohocken. A $40 donation at the door includes a free buffet and cash bar with discounted domestic beer and house wine specials. For more information about the event, click here.

Whitemarsh Township will hold Touch a Truck on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Miles Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Police vehicles, school buses and construction trucks and equipment will be on display. Admission is free.
