Saturday: Camp Can Do Fundraising Dinner

Night of food and entertainment supports children battling cancer.

Camp Can Do, a two week camp held each summer by the American Cancer Society, is hoping for a big turn out at this Saturday's spaghetti dinner at the .

Proceeds of the dinner, priced at $40 for adults (two for $75), and $15 for kids, will go directly to the camp. Held from 6-10 p.m., the dinner includes live music, a silent auction, and additional entertainment.

The camp is designed for children ages 8 to 17 as a getaway from their battle with cancer. Youngsters are able to partake in numerous outside activities and interact with others their age in ways that their treatment usually limits.

Sarah Goldbloom, an administrative assistant with the Whitemarsh Police Department and singer/songwriter who Patch , will be singing at this Saturday's dinner.

“There’s nothing like seeing the kids — all from different backgrounds — laughing and having fun and uniting with one song. It’s just so cool to come together and have fun and live life together," Goldbloom told Colonial News.
