Lafayette Hill Leads Plymouth Meeting, Conshy, in Charitable Giving

The Plymouth-Whitemarsh area combined to give $34.5 million in 2008.

On Monday, from "The Chronicle of Philanthropy," which showed that the people of Montgomery County are the most generous in Pennsylvania.

Based on 2008 IRS tax records-- the most recent year for which data is available-- Montgomery County residents gave 4.8 percent of their income, compared to an average of 3.9 percent across Pennsylvania and 4.7 across the entire United States.
