The Colonial School District on Jan. 9 announced preliminary plans to renovate Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
The district’s director of operations said while the school is safe, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in the school are outdated, according to a story in the Times Herald.
Though they’re just preliminary plans, the story said the renovations could include increasing natural light and “building efficient and sustainable systems.”

District Business Administrator Trevor Jackson said it’s an ideal time to perform renovations, as interest rates are low, that and the fact that the district has a low level of debt, according to the story.
