VIDEO: Conshy Councilman Ryan Talks Borough Initiatives

Conshohocken councilman Matt Ryan recently starred in a video update (co-starring and produced by Planning Commission member Matt Mittman) about borough council's recent initiatives.

Ryan went council member by council member, describing recent efforts:

Raj Gupta (1st Ward, Finance chair): Wrapped the 2013 budget, a balanced $10.9 million dollar budget with no tax increases, which maintains the 3.5 millage rate. Council unanimously approved the budget at its legislative session on Dec. 19.

Anita Barton (4th Ward, Personnel chair): Is working on the bi-annual borough newsletter, which is delivered to every resident. The next edition will be coming in April.

Matt Ryan (5th Ward, Rec and Fellowship House chair): Oversaw the Boat House groundbreaking, and says residents "should be able to use it within 8 to 12 months."

Ike Griffin (2nd Ward, Public Safety and Parking chair): Is working on parking improvements throughout borough. Council passed a resolution extending parking from one to two hours on both sides of East 4th Avenue between Fayette and Harry Streets, adjacent to the 401 diner.

Bob Stokley (Ward 6, Public Works chair): Is working on developing way-finding and welcome signs in the borough, as well as an initiative to video tape problematic storm sewers to make improvements.

Council has set money aside to work on stormwater management improvements along Colwell lane in 2013.

Ed Phipps (Ward 7, Parks and Grounds chair): Overseeing the resurfacing of Sutcliffe Park, which Ryan said should be completed by the end of January.

Paul McConnell (Ward 3, Buildings chair): Overseeing the marketing of the Verizon Building. Ryan said that "a number of developers have expressed interest."
