Update: Teenager Detained Following Shooting

The teenager who allegedly shot a 15 year old in a home in Whitemarsh on Friday had a juvenile petition filed in his interest, according to Whitemarsh Police Chief Michael Beaty.

According to Beaty, the 15 year old who was shot was showing several guns to a 16-year-old boy while in the kitchen in a house in the 2300 block of Mulberry Lane at about 3:30 p.m. While handling the weapon, the weapon discharged.

The victim suffered a minor graze wound to the scalp and was taken to Temple University Hospital and later released. Beaty said the teenager is going to be OK.
