Two More High-End SUVs Stolen in Whitemarsh

Whitemarsh Police said someone stole two $40,000-plus SUVs last week — and one of the SUVs was stolen from the same house as a Volvo SUV five days prior.

According to Whitemarsh Police, someone stole a 2013 charcoal grey Jeep Grand Cherokee with registration tag HTW-0258 from a residence in the 100 block of Hampton Lane on Sept. 3. The vehicle’s owner said he did not see the theft, but remembered seeing the vehicle on Sept. 3 at 11:15 p.m. The owner said he heard barking dogs, and when he stepped outside, his vehicle was gone.

The estimated value of the Jeep is $45,000

The owner said his wife’s vehicle was stolen earlier that week — a 2013 Volvo XC90. In that incident, the vehicle owner left a tan leather purse in the SUV, which contained a set of keys.

There was a spare key to the Jeep on the keychain, police said.

Someone also stole a 2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 from a driveway in the 7200 block of Willow Lane on Sept. 2 between 7 and 10:30 p.m., police said.  The estimated value of the Benz is $40,000 and its registration tag is HWV-1535.

According to police, the complainant’s daughter had a set of keys stolen from inside her BMW that was left unlocked and parked next to the Mercedes in the driveway. The BMW was blocked by another vehicle, and was not stolen.
