Man Arrested for Alleged Role in Oct. 2 DeKalb Shooting

Lavontae Stewart was arrested and charged in relation to an incident in which a man was shot in the leg, police say. He was arrested in Plymouth Township last year.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the Wednesday night shooting that injured a man inside of a Jeep on the 1000 block of DeKalb Street in Norristown, say police.

Lavontae Stewart was arrested and charged with three counts of simple assault, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person, as well as firearm charges, say police.

Court documents list his address as being in Norristown. Other court documents indicate that Stewart was arrested by Plymouth township police in 2012 and charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, and firearms not to be carried without a license, amongst other charges.

Plymouth police charged him in connection to allegedly burglarizing a gun room in a Plymouth Meeting home.

Court documents indicate that Stewart pled guilty to receiving stolen property and was sentenced to incarceration and probation.

Stewart is currently held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. His bail is unknown, according to police.

The man shot in the leg while he was inside of a Jeep has been released from the hospital, say police.
