Just a Drill

Several police departments will be holding training exercises at a local school today.

Don’t worry. It’s just a drill.

Whitemarsh Police Chief Mike Beaty said his police department will be hosting a training exercise at the school on Chestnut Street on Wednesday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The training will help emergency service agencies, and the school, prepare for a variety of emergency scenarios.

School will not be in session during the training and no students are participating.

Also involved in the training exercise are: the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office; the Plymouth Township Police Department; the Conshohocken Police Department; and the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.

Beaty said his department has held training exercises at Neri, as well as other local schools in the past.
