'Job Applicant' Allegedly Takes Pay Advance

A woman applying for a job at a Whitemarsh business allegedly cut the interview short.

According to Whitemarsh Police, a woman entered Primerica in the 1100 block of East Hector Street on July 29 to be interviewed as a prospective candidate.

During the interview, which happened at about 5:30 p.m., the complainant said she left the room “for a minute” while the applicant was filling out paperwork. When the complainant returned, the applicant seemed nervous and left quickly, without finishing her application, police said.

According to police, the complainant said she realized her wallet — containing her driver’s license, her permit to carry a firearm, and her banking and Social Security information — was missing.

The “applicant” was the only other person in the room, according to the complainant.

According to police, the applicant is described as black, short, of average weight and with extensions in her hair. She gave the name of Aigner T. Griffin with a Philadelphia address; several attempts were made to verify Griffin’s information, with negative results, police said
