Arie Oren, who operated Conshohocken Weight Control, was sentenced to 4.5 to nine years for assaulting female clients.

A former Conshohocken weight loss doctor was sentenced to 4.5 to nine years in prison for groping or sexually assaulting patients, according to CBSLocal.

Arie Oren was convicted in September of four counts of aggravated indecent assault and five counts of indecent assault for having inappropriate contact with five women between 2008 and 2010, all of which occurred at Conshohocken Weight Control on the 100 block of W Third Avenue in Conshohocken.

According to a Mainline Media News article, Oren, of Penn Valley, will be evaluated by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board to determine if he meets criteria under Megan’s Law to be declared a sexually violent predator.

Five Montgomery County women, between 24 and 59 years of age, told a jury last year that he made sexually suggestive comments while using a massager on their bodies under the premise of breaking up fat on their thighs, and sexually assaulted them with the massager and his hand.

Oren was arrested in April of 2011, after a 39-year-old woman approached the Conshohocken Police stating that she was sexually assaulted by Oren during an examination.

Oren’s attorney, Tim Woodward, claimed in court that the doctor was so overcome with grief after losing his wife to cancer that he didn’t know what he was doing.
