Area Fire Companies Host Friday Night Fundraisers

Plymouth FC raises funds for injured firefighter while Washington FC looks to "knock out" leukemia.

Two local fire companies are holding fundraisers Friday night, with one aiming to help an injured member and another joining the fight against cancer.

As reported by Colonial News, the Plymouth Fire Company is hosting a fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. Friday to raise funds for injured firefighter Kyle Stamm. Stamm, a volunteer and Plymouth township resident, suffered a stroke as he was leaving the scene of a fire in April. The 38-year-old Stamm has been through a number of financial and physical hardships since the incident, including the loss of his job, Colonial News reported.

The fundraiser will be held at the Spring Mill Fire Company, located at 1210 E. Hector Street in Conshohocken. Tickets are $25 each and include food, soda, beer and entertainment.

Tickets are also $25 and include food, music, dancing and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through the "Light of the Night Walk" 2012.
