Richard Hartz, of Hartsville, died Thursday, Sept. 19. He was 50.
Hartz was the husband of Patricia (née Bunting) Hartz. He and his family lived in Hartsville for the last 12 years.
Hartz was a human resources director for the Colonial School District. He is an alumnus if East Stroudsburg University and earned his master’s degree from Rider University.
The Colonial School District School Board cut its meeting short meeting on Sept. 19 after hearing about the death.
In addition to his wife, Hartz is survived by his children, Alyssa 16, Ashley 13, and Alexis 8; his parents, Robert and Marianna Hartz; his sister, Michelle Malocu; and his brothers, Robert Jr. and Ronald Hartz.
A funeral service was held Tuesday in Warrington. Arrangements are by Shelly Funeral Homes.
