Mary Catherine Lake, American Cancer Society Volunteer

Lake was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Plymouth Meeting; her funeral Mass will be Feb. 1.

Mary Catherine Lake, of Plymouth Meeting, died Jan. 27 at her home. She was 63.

She was the wife of Richard Lake for 40 years. 

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Martin T. and Florence (Dell) Walsh. 

Lake received her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy from East Stroudsburg University and worked for Easton Hospital for 10 years. 

She dedicated much of her life to helping others and enjoyed volunteering, especially with the American Cancer Society.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Shannon Stacy, Courtney Zickler and Krista Buerger; five grandchildren, Ainsley, Mallory, Clair, Colin and Molly; five brothers, Martin, Patrick, Terrence, John, and Kevin; and a sister, Florence Armstrong.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 East Butler Pike, Ambler. 

Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
