Louis P. Sigel Jr., Former Member of St. Peter’s in Lafayette Hill

Sigel was also a World War II veteran; his memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday.

Louis P. Sigel Jr., of Shannondell in Audubon, formerly of Jeffersonville and Andorra, died Thursday, Jan. 9 at his residence. He was 92.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Louis P. and Julia Cawley Sigel. He was a graduate of Olney High School and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Sigel was a World War II veteran, having served as a pilot in the Philippines with the rank of Captain.

Sigel was a former member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill.

Sigel is survived by his wife, Shirlee (DeNyse) Sigel; a daughter, Karen S. Hanson of Plymouth Meeting; two sons, Louis III of Brigantine, N.J. and Eric C. Sigel of Exton; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Road, Audubon. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
