KenCrest Executive Thanks Governor Tom Corbett

Bill Nolan, KenCrest Centers Executive Director, thanks Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett for his continued support of people with intellectual disabilities at a Rotary event held on Wednesday, January 29. Governor Corbett’s comments included his announcement of an upcoming $22.4 million budget request to help meet the needs of over 15,000 people with intellectual disabilities on Pennsylvania’s waiting list. “No one should have to wait for services in this Commonwealth,” said the Governor.

While very thankful for the additional funding request, Nolan suggests that money alone is not the answer to a system in need of significant attention. Community service providers operate under a variety of rates, rules and regulations that can work against provider innovation and creativity in reaching out to those in need. KenCrest continues to work closely with Governor Corbett and his cabinet to meet common goals on behalf of Pennsylvania citizens with disabilities and the staff who support them. www.kencrest.org
