Plymouth Ambulance’s ‘Operation Christmas Kids’ Bring Toys to Hospitalized Kids

The ambulance company is teaming up with local first responders and other groups to spread holiday cheers to children in hospitals.

Plymouth Ambulance is holding its fourth annual ‘Operation Christmas Kids’ on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where the community can bring new, unwrapped gifts for children to their Plymouth Meeting headquarters that local ambulance companies, fire departments and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department will bring to children at Bryn Mawr Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children later that day.

Community members are encouraged to bring the presents on Friday night (the building is staffed unless employees at the 911 organization are out on a call) until the cutoff time on Saturday at noon. Guests can come and meet local first responders, who will depart for the hospitals at 1 p.m. with the toys.

According to Plymouth Event Coordinator Tony Franz, last year the participants were about to collect about 6,000 to 7,000 toys for the children. This year they used electronic billboards around the grounds, to advertise. “The outpouring of people to deliver toys has been phenomenal,” he said.
