Norristown’s new kid in town, not even a year old, is the Court Order Grille on the corner of Airy and Swede. On a menu that boasts the; Acquittal (corned beef), the testimony (turkey), the objection (ham and turkey), and the guilty (loaded cheesesteak), the true hidden gem in here is Jay’s Chicken Salad.
The Chicken Salad Hoagie is one of the best I have ever had. The Chicken chunks are just the right size and it's mixed perfectly, without anything goofy like grapes or nuts, as some chicken salads have. The bread is fresh, and topped with hot hoagie spread, this sammich should be considered a crime.
Meat Proportion: the chicken salad overfloweth! The Court Order Grill gives you just the right amount of chicken salad in the hoagie, this no weak wawa, or subpar subway, this is a man’s sammich!
Bread: Fresh bread, just the right thickness.
Condiments: Chicken Salad is mixed with condiments, so I say “irrelevant, your honor”.
Toppings: Just the right amount of lettuce, thinly sliced onions, just the way I like them, and hot hoagie spread really helps bring out the taste of the chicken salad.
Officially giving this gem 5 out of 5 chomps!! Jay Kowal, you are GUILTY of pleasing Fat Sam, great job!
Other Gems: if you think you could squeeze it in after the sammich, try the Chili, its perfect on a cold day, and some fish favorites for you Friday Lenten observers.
Until next time – Don’t eat anything Fat Sam wouldn’t eat!
