Jazz legend Ron Carter returns to Montgomery County Community College’s Lively Arts Series on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. in the Science Center Theater, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. Tickets cost $28 general admission and $12 for children under age 12. Visit www.mc3.edu/livelyarts or call 215-641-6518 for tickets and info.

Born in 1937 and still just as active as he was when he was younger, Carter is a jazz double-bassist with over 2,000 albums to his credit. He is among the most influential living jazz musicians and has worked with giants like Miles Davis, B.B. King and A Tribe Called Quest.

The master bassist is also the recipient of two Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Instrumental Group with the Miles Davis Tribute Band and “Call Sheet Blues,” in 1993 and 1998 respectively, and has also worked with numerous universities, teaching students the business of music.

The performance is made possible by a grant from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program.
