Close Race for Whitemarsh Supervisor

One of the two incumbent Whitemarsh Supervisors was ousted following Tuesday's election, according to the unofficial election results provided by the county late Tuesday night.

In a close race, Republican challenger James A. Totten and Democratic incumbent Robert Hart landed the two open seats, ousting Democratic supervisor Melissa Sterling.

Totten scored the highest number of votes, 2,016, followed by Hart with 1,987; Sterling fell just four votes shy of Hart's total.

  • Republican James Totten, 2,016 votes
  • Democrat Robert Hart, 1,987
  • Democrat Melissa Sterling, 1,983
  • Republican John Williams, 1,942
