Photos: New Trees Planted at Aubrey Collins Park

Shade Tree Commission plants six saplings.

Although they don't look like much now, the six saplings planted in Conshohocken's Aubrey Collins Park last Friday will one day grow into large shade trees in what is now an empty patch of grass.

The trees were planted by the borough's Shade Tree Commission, in addition to another four trees planted in residential areas throughout the borough. According to commission members, three Horn Beams, two Dawn Redwoods, and a Beech tree were planted at the park.

Part of the Shade Tree Commission's responsibility is to carefully review places where trees need to be planted and select species that naturally fit that location. Residents of Conshohocken can request a shade tree by e-mailing conshohockenshadetree@gmail.com, and will be considered for 2013 planting.

Small quibble perhaps, however, last time I checked, Stella Blu and Gypsy Saloon were both in WestRead More Conshohocken, not Conshohocken. Credit where credit is due, please. I'm terribly proud of my hometown, you see.
