Ex-Yahoo Pres Thompson Takes Conshy CEO Job

Scott Thompson will head up ShopRunner after leaving Yahoo last May.

Ex-Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson has found a nice place to land after his May resignation from the multi-billion dollar internet company; right here in Conshohocken.

That's according to Reuters, which reports that Thomspon will become the CEO of ShopRunner, a business that provides shipping service for retailers like Toys R Us, American Eagle and PetSmart.

Incidentally, the majority shareholder of ShopRunner is Kynetic, the same company that agreed to so that it could also construct a helicopter pad along the waterfront and fly in high profile clientele.

Thompson was previously the president of PayPal before taking the head job at Yahoo late last fall. However, he resigned in May after questions arose over the education portion of his resume.

Regardless, Reuters reports that Kynetic CEO Michael Rubin is excited about Thompson's arrival, and states that Thompson sat on the company's board of directors prior to the hire.

"[It is the] perfect time to bring in Scott, who we have gotten to know extremely well over the past few years," Reuters quoted Rubin as saying.

Small quibble perhaps, however, last time I checked, Stella Blu and Gypsy Saloon were both in WestRead More Conshohocken, not Conshohocken. Credit where credit is due, please. I'm terribly proud of my hometown, you see.
