Whitemarsh Prepares for Sandy, Offers Free Sandbags to Residents

Whitemarsh Township is predicting heavy storm water.

From Whitemarsh Township:

In preparation for the coming storm, the Whitemarsh Township will be providing sandbags for residents in need of extra reinforcements to protect their homes from the predicted heavy stormwater. 

Sandbags will be available starting 1 p.m. at the Whitemarsh Township Parks and Recreation Department parking lot located at 4021 Joshua Road and starting 5 p.m. at the Township Public Works facility located at 2015 Joshua Road.

The Whitemarsh Township Emergency Services Coordinator advises that all residents avoid traveling in flood-prone areas during and especially after the storm.  Any road closure notices will be posted on the Township website, Whitemarsh TV (Comcast Ch. 965, Verizon Ch. 46) and will also be forwarded to the local news networks.  And in the event of a power outage, contact PECO at 1-800-841-4141.  In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
