The Whitemarsh Police Department teamed up with the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of the agency’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday.

According to Whitemarsh Police, residents brought in 167 pounds of prescription, non-prescription and over-the-counter medicine. The unwanted drugs were then boxed and transported to a DEA collection area staged by the Upper Merion Police, weighed, and then turned over to the DEA.
