Conshohocken St. Patrick's Day Events Announced

Local residents may be celebrating love today, but we will be drinking green beer before we know it.

The Conshohocken St. Patrick’s Day festivities have been scheduled, including the Grand Marshal’s Ball on March 9, Irish Coffee Contest on March 14, and the parade down Fayette Street on March 16 at 2 p.m.

AOH Notre Dame Division 1, which helps to organize the parade, is still looking for local business and personal sponsorships. Sponsorships run from $35 to $500, and the cost for an individual, family or memorial booster is $5.

The 9th Annual Grand Marshal’s Ball will be held at a new location, the Washington Fire House Banquet Hall, on March 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and costs $40 per person.

The cost includes dinner, desert, draft beer, wine, soda and entertainment. A limited cash bar will be available. Anyone who needs a ticket is asked to call 610-666-1989.

Tom Coughlin, Montgomery County AOH President, will serve as the parade's Grand Marshal.

Local bars, such as Flanigan’s Boathouse, are already getting ready for the parade after-parties.

Small quibble perhaps, however, last time I checked, Stella Blu and Gypsy Saloon were both in WestRead More Conshohocken, not Conshohocken. Credit where credit is due, please. I'm terribly proud of my hometown, you see.

GRIN! Thanks. Nothing like a "Homer" to make life difficult, eh?
