'Civil War Christmas' Reenactment Set for Selma Mansion on Sat.

28th Pennsylvania Infantry Company reenactors to take part in live battle.

The stage is set for a battle between the Union and Confederate armies on the lawn of the historic Selma Mansion in Norristown this Saturday. Except that after the final musket ball has been fired, the troops will rise from the ground, shake hands, and share some hot beverages while celebrating the Christmas holiday.

It's part of the 2nd Annual "Civil War Soldier's Christmas," at the mansion, a day that also includes living history displays and seminars, tours of the three-story mansion, and a visit from the Norristown Chorale, who will carol and help decorate the tree.

Children of all ages are welcome to the event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults can enter for $6, seniors for $5, kids 5-12 and veterans for $3, and kids under 5 for free. The event is sponsored by the Norristown Preservation Society and P.U.P.S. Paranormal team, and all proceeds will go to the restoration of the mansion.

The Selma Mansion is located at 1301 West Airy Street, Norristown.
