Chance of Snow Tuesday Night

A freeze watch is in effect for the region.

After two days of temperatures reaching into the 80s, we're in for a rude awakening on Tuesday -- there's a chance of snow.

Temperatures will plunge during the day Tuesday, when there is a 100 percent chance of rain, the National Weather Service said Monday. Overnight temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday will be in the 20s.

Because of the precipitation and sharp temperature drop, there is a chance of snow Tuesday night, the NWS said. There isn't likely to be any accumulation, the NWS said, but roads could be icy.

Frost is likely Wednesday morning, and some more fragile vegetation could be impacted by the cold, the NWS said.

Parts of the region could see freezing temperatures again Wednesday night, the NWS said.
