The William Jeanes Memorial Library and Nicholas and Athena Karabots Center for Learning seeks a PT Library Assistant. 

 

Duties include checking materials in and out at the circulation desk, registering new users, assisting patrons with finding materials, reshelving materials, preparing items for delivery, searching for holds requests, and other duties as assigned.

Experience working in a public library or in a customer service setting and using the Dewey Decimal Classification System preferred. Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent computer and customer service skills.

This position reports to the Head of Circulation.  This is a permanent part-time position requiring a high school diploma or GED.  All candidates are subject to passing a PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record check, and an FBI Background check. 

 

Hours include a variety of daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.   Ability to substitute as needed a plus.  The library is open seven days per week.  Pay is $9.20 per hour.
