Stuffed Animals To Be Used To Help Children In Montgomery County

America Responds With Love, a national nonprofit organization, donated 50 stuffed animals and comfort pillows to the Horsham Township Police Department and Montgomery County Court Child Care.

This donation was made possible through the support of Vantage Point Bank, the only community bank headquartered in Horsham.

These stuffed animals and comfort pillows were provided to America Responds With Love by the Town of Newtown in Connecticut.  Following the shooting of school children and school personnel in December of 2012, people throughout the United States sent thousands of stuffed animals and comfort pillows to the Town of Newtown.  The community utilized a portion of the donated products to help people truly in need in Newtown as well as throughout the State of Connecticut.

Many of the items that were not needed within the State of Connecticut were donated to America Responds With Love by the Town of Newtown.

"Every child needs a friend that makes them feel safe and loved,” explained Ms. Linda Awarski, Director of Montgomery County Court Child Care.   “Our bears will find good homes in the arms of children whose families are conducting business with the Montgomery County Courts.  Every child deserves a new toy to give comfort and for them to give love.”

“The Horsham Township Police Department will be using the stuffed animals and comfort pillows in a variety of situations,” stated Lieutenant Jon Clark of the Horsham Township Police Department.  “We use stuffed animals to provide comfort to victims of domestic violence, traffic accidents, fires, and other similar situations.”

“We have received donated stuffed animals from area Girl Scouts and local residents,” continued Lt. Clark.  “We welcome the donation from Vantage Point Bank and America Responds With Love.”

Vantage Point Bank welcomed the opportunity to support these community efforts.

“Vantage Point Bank, as the only community bank located in Horsham Township, feels it is important to give back to our community,” stated Mr. Daniel O’Brien, Chief Financial Officer.  “Working with the Township and the Police Department allows us that opportunity.”

America Responds With Love is donating the stuffed animals and comfort pillows to a number of hospitals, police departments, social service organizations, and others that help serve people truly in need.  The Horsham Township Police Department and Montgomery County Court Child Care are examples of the recipients of these donated products.

“We are pleased to be able to help the Horsham Township Police Department and Montgomery County Court Child Care find ways to utilize the stuffed animals and comfort pillows donated in the wake of the tragedy in Newtown,” explained Mr. Richard McDonough, President and Chief Executive Officer of America Responds With Love.  “We believe Americans who generously donated the stuffed animals and comfort pillows will find that using these products to help people truly in need in Horsham and in Montgomery County will be a fitting way to remember the lives lost in Newtown.”

“The leadership of the Horsham Township Police Department and Montgomery County Court Child Care will help people truly in need in Horsham and throughout Montgomery County.”
