Whitemarsh Chef Helps Raise Money for Philabundence

Chef Andrew Barnes of Whitemarsh Valley Country Club participated in a tasting event that raised over $20,000.

Chefs from across the region, including Whitemarsh, came to volunteer with Philabundance on July 12, 2011.

According to a release, the Philadelphia Chapter of Chef to Chef sorted and packed food items that were purchased from the proceeds of their food tasting event in late March. Over $22,000 was raised during the tasting event, which brought together Chefs from Delaware Valley country clubs to show off their best dishes.

The proceeds purchased over 250,000 pounds of fresh carrots that will be distributed to people in need.
