Plymouth Township Police are searching for three suspected arsonists who set fire to the Plymouth Elementary Playground in late June. According to a release from the department, security footage captured what appears to be three white, teenage males starting a fire on the playground at approximately 10:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.
The three suspects approached the equipment and lit a t-shirt on the end of a stick, using it to start the fire, the release said. One of the males then stomps on the flames, causing embers to shoot out. The three suspects remained on the scene for about 12 minutes before leaving the area, the release said.
The fire was eventually extinguished by the Harmonville Fire company and is being investigated by the PPD's Detective Division. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Detective Jeffrey McGee at 610-279-1901.
