The Whitemarsh Police Department arrested two men on charges of using counterfeit bills at several locations in Whitemarsh and Conshohocken on
Jan. 21.

According to a release from the department, police were dispatched to 7th Heaven at approximately 12:45 a.m. after the businesses owner reported that two men were trying to pass $50 bills in the establishment.

According to videotapes provided by the owner, the two men used three counterfeit $50 at the bar for drinks before leaving in a large white SUV. Police observed a vehicle matching that description outside of Bobbie's Burgers in Conshohocken.

After releasing descriptions of the two men to neighboring law enforcement, the Conshohocken Police Department positively identified the two men inside of the Great American Pub. The men, a 25-year-old Philadelphia resident and a 32-year-old Upper Darby resident, were allegedly trying to pass additional bills in the restaurant.

The two men were arrested on charges of possessing and using counterfeit bills. An NCIC search revealed that the Philadelphia man had an active warrant out for his arrest in Delaware County.

Police observed a white piece of paper with several $50 bills inside of it while investigating the vehicle.

The US Secret Service was contacted and will be conducting an investigation.
