Plymouth Township Police are still investigating the theft of a $900 Dachsund puppy named Pipsqueak from Playful Pets in Conshohocken on Thursday, March 29. According to a detective involved in the case, police have identified two people of interest, but have not yet located the puppy. No arrests have been reported.

Beth Ann Neuschwander, manager of Playful Pets, told Norristown Patch that authorities were giving the woman identified on the video an opportunity to turn herself in and are now focusing on recovering the puppy.

"We just want to make sure the dog is alright," said Neuschwander. "That's all we care about."

Several anonymous sources say the suspect had attempted to return the puppy not long after the theft, but instead handed the puppy to two unidentified boys outside of the shop and asked them to return it for her. According to the sources, the two boys instead sold the puppy to an unidentified woman at a nearby bus stop who then boarded a bus for an unknown destination. (The 27 Bus that services the Ridge Pike and Butler Pike stop travels between the Wissahickon Transfer Center and Broad and Carpenter streets in Philadelphia.) 

Neuschwander says the store is not interested in prosecuting the alleged children involved and the owner has yet to decide if he would want the puppy returned.

"I just want to make sure the dog is in a loving home," said Neuschwander. "All we want to know is that the dog is OK."
