Officials Investigating Cause of Early Morning Fire

No one was injured in a Thursday morning fire at a Conshohocken restaurant, officials say.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of an early-morning fire that damaged the in Conshohocken Thursday morning.

According to Conshohocken Fire Company Department Chief Stephen Phipps, an automated fire alarm went off in the back of the restaurant sometime around 4 a.m. Thursday. Responding firefighters found smoke in the building and combated with fire suppression and ventilation and that the fire was contained after 5 a.m.

Phipps said that no one was injured during the fire but that the cause was still under investigation.

Traffic on Fayette Street between 8th and 9th Avenues was rerouted while officials investigated the scene.

Officials from West Conshohocken, Swedesberg, Whitemarsh, Gladwyn and Narberth also responded to the fire.
