Montgomery Bar Association Welcomes New Leaders
Bar Association’s Annual Business Meeting Luncheon marks the installment of new leaders and honors attorneys, community leaders and local heroes.

On Friday, Jan. 11, the Montgomery Bar Association (MBA) held its annual business luncheon meeting at the Meadowlands Country Club in Blue Bell. Nearly 300 local dignitaries, legal professionals and community leaders attended the event which included the election of the MBA’s officers for 2013, an awards presentation to honor area attorneys, members of law enforcement and community leaders, as well as the installation of its 89th president, Paul C. Troy, Esq., with the ceremonial passing of the gavel.
A named partner at the Norristown law firm of Kane, Pugh, Knoell, Troy & Kramer, LLP, Mr. Troy is widely known for his legal acumen in the areas of professional liability and medical malpractice defense. In June of 2012, he appeared on Philadelphia Magazine’s “Top 100 Attorneys In Philadelphia” list. In addition to his excellent reputation in the courtroom, Mr. Troy is respected among his peers as a leader in continuing legal education and for his contributions to the profession at both the state and county level.
At the state level, Mr. Troy is the immediate past-president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) and remains an active leader for the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA), having served on their Board of Governors. Mr. Troy has also served as Chair of the House of Delegates, Chair of the Young Lawyers Division, and Vice-Chair and Chair of the PBA Health Care Law Committee. Currently, Mr. Troy serves as Co-Chair of the PBA Bar Leadership Institute and is a life fellow of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.
At the county level, Mr. Troy has served as President of the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Section, a Director of the Montgomery Bar Association, and has chaired and co-chaired the MBA’s Insurance Committee. He has been an Officer of the Montgomery Bar Association since 2009. In recognition of his accomplishments to both the Montgomery Bar Association and the legal profession, he received a Special Achievement Award in 1999 from the Bar Association and the James P. Fox Trial Lawyers of the Year Award from the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Section in 2011. Mr. Troy regularly teaches Continuing Legal Education both to local bar associations and to private firms.
Mr. Troy is also an active member of his community, serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of Gaudeamus Music Ministries, Inc., and on the Board of Trustees of the Wissahickon Valley Public Library. He and his wife, Liz, have three daughters and live in Blue Bell.
For the 2013 Bar Year, Michael F. Rogers, Esq. will serve as President-Elect, Bruce Pancio, Esq. will serve as Vice President, Carolyn R. Mirable, Esq. will serve as Treasurer and Eric B. Smith, Esq. will serve as Secretary.

Robert H. Lefevre, Esq., a partner in the law firm of Morrow, Tomkins, Trueblood & Lefevre, LLC in Norristown was named Chairman of the MBA’s Probate and Tax Section.
