MaGerks Gets Final Approval for Patio, Parking Improvements
Whitemarsh Supervisors approve land development waiver.
MaGerks Pub and Grill, the popular destination on Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington, has cleared a final development hurdle for its ongoing renovations.
The Whitemarsh Board of Supervisors granted MaGerks a land development waiver at last week's monthly meeting, formally enabling the business to construct an outdoor patio and make improvements to its parking.
In addition, MaGerks agreed to an additional township request to screen dumpsters from view.
"The inside of MaGerks is beautiful, and now they're doing a lot to make the outside really attractive and functional," said chairman Robert Hart. "Its going to have an outside dining and patrio area, and I really think it's going to be a great improvement to the area."
As previously reported by Patch, project architect James Morrissey said that the bar will utilize the large double doors in the rear of the building to provide an "open air quality room" that leads onto the patio.
The patio itself will have a roof over an outdoor bar, a pizza oven, and a collection of televisions for watching sports. The new outdoor area will sit along the existing parking lot or on the right hand side of someone facing the bar from Bethlehem Pike.
Patch attempted to contact MaGerks to find out when management expects the patio to be open to the public, but several calls went unreturned.
