The Washington Fire Company, of Conshohocken, has five new water rescue safety suits for its personnel, after donations made by ASTM International helped fund their purchase.

The suits include helmets, vests, boots, rope bags and gloves, and will help responders perform the water rescues that have become frequent in recent years, said WFC Lieutenant Rob Dronitsky.

ASTM International is a West Conshohocken-based company that develops international material standards. According to a press release from the company, ASTM has a commitment to a number of charitable causes in the Montgomery County area, including a number of local fire companies.
