Budget Travel Magazine has narrowed the search for America's Coolest Small Town, and, after 924 nominations, the 15 finalists include a Pennsylvania town that is a perfect day trip from Montgomery County.
Lititz, less than an hour and a half from Norristown, offers visitors costumed tour guides of the Lititz Historical Foundation, as well as "a museum that includes Native American artifacts, a replica of a Moravian home, and a heritage garden," according to Budget Travel.
Within walking distance of the Lititz Historical Foundation, visitors can tour the original Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, where the hard pretzel was invented.
On Broad St., visitors can tour, taste, sample, and delight in the Wilbur Chocolate Factory, which has been in Lititz for over 125 years.
Lititz is also a great place to shop for hand crafted furniture, or just shop the boutiques.
