Car Fire on Expressway Near Belmont

Belmont Hills Fire Company and Narberth Ambulance responded.

 

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: No flames were visible at the scene about 3:20 p.m. Several vehicles remained at the scene, as did several apparent vehicle passengers and emergency personnel. Traffic was moving more swiftly by the scene than a half-hour before.

2:40 p.m.: Firefighters and police responded to an accident and car fire on the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Montgomery County dispatch and PennDOT.

The scene was just east of the Belmont Avenue on-ramp to the expressway. It was unclear whether anyone was injured and how many vehicles were involved, but PennDOT traffic cameras showed traffic squeezing by the scene slowly.

Belmont Hills Fire Company and Narberth Ambulance were among the units responding.

I can see it from my window. Looks like e-bound there's one lane open w/ cars making their way past an emergency vehicle.
