‘BMI Busters’ Teaches Kids about Healthy Lifestyles

The Plymouth Community Center is holding a four-week program to teach children about exercise and eating right.

 

The Greater Plymouth Community Center is holding a four-week program – “BMI Busters” - to help children fight child obesity and introduce them to a healthy lifestyle of exercising and eating right.

The classes will offer weight training, cardiovascular exercise and nutritional information, helping children to lose weight, gain confidence and have fun. Children are weighed weekly, but weight loss is not overly emphasized.

Nutrition will be discussed weekly, including food labels, healthy snack choices and portion control. Healthy food will be distributed for children to make and try.

Classes, for children seven through 14 years of age, will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. between April 22 an May 17.
